# Installing and first run

> Setup steps and what happens on the first completed trade.

<Info>
  An unconfigured install works. Every default reproduces the bracketed
  `[Region] [H] … [W] …` format most trade subreddits use.
</Info>

## Setup

  <Step title="Install the app">

  <Step title="Check the hub post">
    Installing creates and stickies it. If it is missing, run **Create the Trade
    Post hub** from the subreddit menu.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enable user flair">

  <Step title="Configure the rules">

    minutes for [the region format](/moderators/region-format) if you tag anything
    other than country and state.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Link the hub">
    From your sidebar and rules wiki. Traders reach Trade Post through the pinned
    post.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## The hub post

**Create the Trade Post hub** is the only menu item and is moderators-only. Running
it again creates a new hub, unstickies the old one, and records the new one. The
old post survives.

Reddit does not allow post titles to be edited, so retitling means creating a new
hub. There is no confirmation dialog and no way to un-create.

## First completed trade

* Both traders' flair updates, if the flair mode is at its default.
* The app account posts a notice in the listing thread naming both new counts.
* A line lands on the ledger wiki page within the hour.

<Warning>
  Using flair templates or coloured flair? Test the flair mode on one account
  first. The first flair write clears the template and background colour.
  [Details](/moderators/flair).
</Warning>
