# Getting help

> Where to ask a question, and where to report something broken.

Start with [troubleshooting for traders](/traders/troubleshooting) or
[troubleshooting for moderators](/moderators/troubleshooting) first. Most of what
gets asked is a timing question with a known answer: settings take about a minute
to reach an open hub, a new moderator can wait ten minutes for Mod tools, and
almost every record in the app expires on a clock.

To reproduce something without doing it in a live subreddit, use
[r/tradepostplayground](https://www.reddit.com/r/tradepostplayground/). Trade
Post is installed there and nothing in it is a real trade.

## What to include

A report is easier to act on than a description. Whichever place you use:

* **The subreddit.** Every setting is per subreddit, and most surprising behaviour
  is a setting somebody changed.
* **What you tapped, and what happened instead.** The screen name is enough:
  Inventory, New post, Offers, Trades, Mod tools.
* **The exact wording of any message.** Error text in Trade Post is specific, and
  the wording is usually the fastest route to the cause.
* **Your Reddit username, if the problem is about your own records.** Not required
  to file, but nothing about an account can be looked up without it.

## What not to include

Never post shipping or payment details in either place. Trade Post does not store
them at all, traders exchange them in Reddit messages, and neither the subreddit
nor the issue tracker is private. [What is kept, and for how

  subreddit. Rule disputes, removals and bans belong with the moderators of the
  subreddit you were trading in.

**Reporting a listing or an offer is a different thing from both of these**, and
it has a button in the app. It goes to the moderators of the subreddit you are
in, who are the people who can act on it. See [reporting](/traders/reporting).
